Statement of Faith

Theological Commitments

  1. God is one and He has revealed Himself to us in three Persons - the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit being distinct, divine Persons.

  2. Jesus Christ is truly God and truly human. He is also the unique and sufficient revelation of the very being, character, and purposes of God. There is no other god, and no other name by which we are saved.

  3. The only ground for our acceptance and forgiveness by God is what Jesus did on the cross and what He is doing now through His risen life. By His resurrection, He exposed and reversed the course of human sin and violence, died for our sins, rose physically from the dead, redeemed us from the power of evil, reconciled us to God, and empowers us with His life in heaven. Therefore, we bring nothing to our salvation, we receive His redemption solely by Grace through Faith.

  4. New life, given supernaturally through regeneration via the Holy Spirit is necessary and a gift. The lifelong conversion that results is the only way to be changed in character and lifestyle. Therefore, the only sufficient power for a life of Christian faithfulness and moral integrity here is that of Christ’s resurrection and the power of the Holy Spirit.

  5. We believe the Lord Jesus’ teaching and attitude toward the total truthfulness and supreme authority of the Bible, God’s inspired Word, make the Scriptures our final rule for faith and practice.

  6. Being disciples of Jesus entails serving Him as the Lord in every area of our lives.

  7. We believe in the blessed hope of the return of Jesus and that the hope provides both strength and substance to what the Church is doing today.

  8. All followers of Christ are called to know and love Jesus through worship, fellowship with family, grow through discipleship, serve Him by ministering to the needs of others in His name, and share the Good News with those who do not yet know Him.

  9. There is a personal devil, a being of great tuning who can exert vast power only so far as God allows him to do so and he will ultimately be judged and condemned forever.

Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality

  1. Marriage according to the Bible consists only of a faithful, heterosexual union between one genetic male and one genetic female. Biblical marriage is the only legitimate and acceptable context for a sexual relationship.

  2. God created each person as male or female. Both distinct genders complement one another to reflect the image and nature of God.

  3. God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a male and female.

  4. We believe any form of sexual immorality (including but not limited to adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful.

  5. God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin in Jesus’ name, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through the name of Jesus.
